A senior official clarified that Imran Khan is being treated in accordance with the legal provisions afforded to former premiers. He has been provided with a private, clean jail cell equipped with a bed, regular medical checkups, daily newspapers, and access to reading material.
In addition, officials confirmed that Khan’s legal counsel meets him regularly. Family members are allowed to visit on specific days under jail rules. Authorities emphasized that these arrangements meet all legal and constitutional requirements.
“Contrary to misleading claims, Imran Khan enjoys more privileges than most inmates,” the spokesperson said. “These special facilities are not favors but part of his legal entitlements.”
Legal Support and Transparency Ensured
Officials further noted that a dedicated team of experienced lawyers is representing Imran Khan in court. This team has unrestricted access to him and is fully engaged in defending his legal position.
They also rejected accusations of restricted legal access or solitary confinement. “The jail management is cooperating fully with Khan’s legal team,” an official added. “All meetings are facilitated transparently.”
Government representatives stated that the recent media and social media campaigns about alleged abuse or political victimization are “propaganda narratives” aimed at discrediting the legal process.
They reiterated that Pakistan’s justice system ensures due process for every citizen, regardless of their political status. “Imran Khan is receiving fair treatment in line with national laws,” one source said.
