DERA MURAD JAMALIA rocket attack targeted the Jaffar Express near the Notal area in Nasirabad district, close to Dera Murad Jamali. According to police reports, unidentified militants fired multiple rockets at the train while it was travelling from Quetta to Peshawar. The rockets landed close to the railway track, triggering loud explosions. Fortunately, the train and all passengers remained safe, and the Jaffar Express continued its journey without interruption.

Security Forces Retaliated

Police and security officials said that security forces retaliated immediately, engaging the militants in brief crossfire. Following the response, the attackers fled the area, taking advantage of the darkness. A search operation is  launched soon after to trace those responsible for the assault. No group has yet claimed responsibility for the incident.

The Jaffar Express, a major passenger train connecting Quetta with Peshawar, has faced repeated security threats over the years, especially across Balochistan’s volatile districts. Railway authorities have frequently expressed concerns over militant activities targeting critical transport routes.

Authorities Tighten Security

In response to the latest incident, security has been tightened along the Quetta–Peshawar railway route. Law-enforcement officials have assured that any threat to public transport will be met with a strong retaliatory response.
