Islamabad_ The Pakistan Army and China’s People’s Liberation Army (PLA) have officially commenced the Warrior-IX joint military exercise, the latest edition of the annual counterterrorism drills held between the two longstanding strategic partners.

The exercise, which began on 1 December 2025 at the National Counter Terrorism Center (NCTC), Pabbi, focuses on advanced Counter Terrorism (CT) operations, with an aim to improve interoperability, sharpen professional combat skills, and facilitate the exchange of modern warfare best practices.

Pakistan and China share deep, time-tested defence cooperation anchored in mutual trust and strategic alignment. The continuation of the Warrior series reflects the robust military-to-military ties and the two nations’ joint commitment to regional peace, stability, and security.

The opening ceremony was attended by senior military leaders, including Mangla Corps Commander, Major General Bian Xiaoming, Deputy Chief of Staff, Western Theatre Command (PLA), and senior officials from both sides.

Warrior-IX underscores the growing collaboration between Pakistan and China as they adapt to evolving security challenges in the region.
