Pakistan Strengthens Gulf Ties Through High-Level Diplomatic Engagements

Islamabad, Pakistan — Pakistan emphasized the importance of maintaining and strengthening relations with key Gulf countries during a press briefing by the Ministry of Foreign Affairs on 15 January 2026. The government highlighted ongoing diplomatic contacts aimed at promoting regional stability and bilateral cooperation.
Prime Minister Muhammad Shehbaz Sharif received a call from His Highness Sheikh Tamim bin Hamad Al Thani, Amir of Qatar, in which both leaders reaffirmed their commitment to deepening bilateral cooperation. The discussion also covered regional developments, with the Prime Minister acknowledging Qatar’s role in facilitating peace and dialogue in the Gulf.


Pakistan-Qatar Engagement Reinforces Strategic Gulf Partnership

During the call, both leaders stressed the significance of strong political and economic ties between Pakistan and Qatar. Prime Minister Muhammad Shehbaz Sharif described the exchange as constructive and forward-looking, emphasizing coordination on issues of mutual interest.Officials noted that ongoing communication ensures regional cooperation and stability while supporting trade, investment, and people-to-people relations between the two countries.


Presidential Visit to Bahrain Expands Bilateral Collaboration

President Asif Ali Zardari visited Bahrain from 13–16 January 2026, meeting King Hamad bin Isa Al Khalifa at Al-Qudaibiya Palace in Manama. The leaders discussed defense cooperation, economic partnerships, and support for Pakistani communities in Bahrain.
The visit highlighted Pakistan’s long-standing commitment to collaboration with Gulf nations, reinforcing shared interests in security, development, and regional stability. Officials emphasized that such high-level engagement strengthens diplomatic channels and promotes sustainable bilateral relations.
