Minister of State Bilal Azhar Kayani, speaking at the Asma Jahangir Conference, highlighted Pakistan’s commitment to both national security and humanitarian responsibilities. He called for legal entry channels for Afghan citizens, noting that Pakistan identified 229 terrorists linked to Afghanistan in 2025 alone. While affirming Pakistan’s openness to Afghan refugees, he stressed that undocumented migration must be addressed to safeguard the country from security risks.
Minister Kayani also underscored that the Afghan Taliban’s violent ideology continues to impact regional stability. He emphasized that Pakistan expects complete severance of ties between the Taliban regime and terrorist groups as a strict prerequisite for any future engagement.
He further stressed that visible and verifiable action must be taken against 58 mapped TTP sites in Afghanistan to dismantle terrorist sanctuaries, ensuring long-term security for Pakistan and the region.
Highlighting Pakistan’s history of hosting millions of Afghan refugees, Minister Kayani said the country remains committed to providing refuge while maintaining strong security measures to protect its citizens. This approach reflects Pakistan’s balanced strategy of humanitarian support and resolute counter-terrorism efforts.
