Web Desk: Chief of Defence Staff Field Marshal Syed Asim Munir met the UAEs’ Deputy Ruler and National Security Adviser Sheikh Tahnoon bin Zayed Al Nahyan in Abu Dhabi, as both sides pledged to deepen cooperation in economic, investment and security sectors.
CDF Asim Munir, who also serves as Chief of Army Staff, held talks with Sheikh Tahnoon, the UAE’s deputy ruler of Abu Dhabi, during an official visit aimed at reinforcing long-standing bilateral ties.
During the meeting, both leaders discussed ways to expand collaboration, particularly in trade, investment and security. In addition, they reviewed regional developments and stressed the need for coordinated efforts to promote peace and stability.
Officials said the talks reflected continued high-level engagement between Islamabad and Abu Dhabi. They added that both sides see economic partnership as a central pillar of their relationship.
Field Marshal expressed appreciation for what he described as the UAE’s longstanding investments and support for Pakistan’s economy and security over the decades. He said the assistance demonstrated deep-rooted and historic ties between the two countries.
Moreover, he commended the UAE leadership’s role in supporting economic and social development initiatives in Pakistan. The army chief reiterated Pakistan’s commitment to strengthening cooperation across multiple sectors.
CDF Munir also emphasised that the UAE’s security and stability remain closely linked to Pakistan’s own security interests. He described the relationship as a strategic partnership built on mutual trust and enduring fraternal bonds.
Both sides agreed to maintain close coordination at the leadership level, officials said. They added that the meeting underscored institutional confidence and continuity in bilateral engagement.
The exchange reaffirmed what officials called an enduring partnership aimed at advancing mutual interests while contributing to broader regional peace, stability and shared prosperity.
