Web Desk: Government of Pakistan issued a detailed statement addressing concerns over former Prime Minister Imran Khan’s health, emphasising that all prisoners, including Khan, are receiving timely and complete medical care in accordance with the law. The clarification came amid protests organised by the Pakistan Tehreek-e-Insaf (PTI) over his health.

According to government sources, prison authorities have taken immediate and effective measures under established protocols. Reports submitted to the courts confirmed that medical examinations were conducted thoroughly. Officials said recent claims highlighting “15 percent vision” were being unnecessarily exaggerated, as they reflected ongoing treatment and gradual improvement.

Specialist doctors from the Pakistan Institute of Medical Sciences and Al-Shifa International conducted detailed eye examinations inside the prison, confirming significant progress in Khan’s condition. Authorities stated that speculation regarding permanent damage is baseless, and both the party leadership and Khan’s personal physicians were given detailed briefings, which were acknowledged with satisfaction.

Government sources noted that PTI representatives were invited to participate in the check-up, but no one attended. Officials linked the absence to internal party matters rather than any administrative oversight.

Separately, the government criticised PTI’s protest strategy, saying road blockages and disruption of daily routines are causing difficulties for ordinary citizens. Authorities urged political parties to focus on public service and governance instead of politicizing health issues.

Officials emphasised that Khan’s medical condition should be evaluated on a scientific basis and that all relevant institutions are fulfilling their responsibilities in line with legal requirements.
