Tehran / Tel Aviv – Iran has carried out a retaliatory missile strike against Israel, according to statements released by the Israeli military. The Israel Defense Forces (IDF) confirmed that multiple missiles were launched from Iranian territory toward Israel, prompting the immediate activation of national air defense systems.
Air raid sirens were sounded across several regions of the country after the missiles were detected, as defense units worked to intercept the incoming threats. Israeli authorities stated that efforts were underway to neutralize the missiles in order to prevent casualties and infrastructure damage.
The escalation follows earlier strikes conducted by the United States and Israel on Iranian targets. In response to those attacks, Iranian officials had vowed a strong and decisive retaliation, stating that several ministries and sensitive government facilities had been targeted. Iranian authorities confirmed that high-alert security measures were implemented following the strikes and that preparations for a counter-response were already underway.
Iranian state media reported that explosions were heard in the western city of Ilam, although details regarding casualties or the extent of damage have not yet been made public.
Meanwhile, following the latest developments, President Donald Trump commented that Iran has been developing long-range missile capabilities that could pose a threat to the United States and other nations, framing the situation as part of broader regional security concerns.
The situation marks a significant escalation in hostilities, raising fears of a wider regional conflict. Both sides appear to be on heightened alert as the international community closely monitors unfolding events and calls for restraint to prevent further destabilization.
