Pakistan has accused Indian intelligence of using online proxies to spread disinformation about Baluchistan. Mir Yar Baloch, a commentator on Baluchistan, has been identified as one such digital proxy. According to officials, he has questioned Pakistan’s management of natural resources to provoke foreign interference.
Officials say this is part of a wider narrative campaign. They claim online disinformation often follows terrorist attacks on the ground. By amplifying messages that align with militant groups like BLA and BLF, these proxies aim to internationalize internal issues and cast Pakistan in a negative light.
The Pakistan’s government stresses that Baluchistan is an integral part of the country. All natural resources are managed under Pakistan’s constitutional framework. Authorities insist that no online campaign can override their sovereign authority.
International responses have largely supported Pakistan’s position. Terrorist attacks in Balochistan earlier this year were condemned by the United Nations Security Council. The United States, the United Kingdom, and China have all backed Pakistan’s efforts to maintain stability.
The United States has officially designated the Balochistan Liberation Army as a Foreign Terrorist Organization, a legal status that highlights the global consensus on the group’s threat.
Experts say that hybrid warfare, combining militant actions with digital campaigns, is being used to destabilize the region. Pakistan maintains a defensive posture to protect its territorial integrity and prevent escalation. Officials note that any attempts to provoke instability, whether on the ground or online, will not go unanswered.
Pakistan also emphasizes its strategic importance. As a nuclear state and a key counterterrorism partner, it plays a central role in regional stability. Authorities warn that external interference through digital proxies undermines not just Pakistan’s security, but the broader stability of South and Central Asia.
The government urges citizens and the international community to recognize the difference between legitimate activism and disinformation campaigns. Pakistan remains committed to defending its sovereignty and ensuring stability in Balochistan and across the region.
