Islamabad – Pakistan’s Minister for Information and Broadcasting, Attaullah Tarar, shared an operational update regarding what he described as “Operation Ghazb lil Haq,” outlining alleged losses suffered by Afghan Taliban forces.
According to the figures released, 435 Taliban fighters were killed and more than 630 injured during the course of the operation. The statement further claimed that 188 Taliban check posts were destroyed, while 31 additional positions were captured.
In terms of military hardware, the update asserted that 188 tanks, armored vehicles, and artillery systems were destroyed. The operation reportedly involved coordinated air strikes targeting 51 locations across Afghanistan.
Pakistani officials describe the operation as a response to security threats and cross-border militant activity, emphasizing that the objectives were focused on dismantling infrastructure linked to armed groups. No independent verification of the casualty figures or equipment losses has yet been provided.
There has been no immediate official response from Afghan Taliban authorities regarding the claims. Given the scale of the reported figures, observers note that confirmation from neutral or international sources may take time.
The update comes amid heightened tensions along the Pakistan-Afghanistan border, with both sides exchanging accusations over security concerns and cross-border activities. Regional analysts warn that continued escalation could further complicate an already fragile security environment.
