Security agencies and Pakistan’s Counter Terrorism Department (CTD) carried out joint intelligence-based operations in the Punjab districts of Jhang and Sargodha, arresting two terrorists linked to a proscribed group, including a suspected suicide bomber.

According to officials, a suicide bomber affiliated with the outlawed network was apprehended in Jhang during a targeted operation. Authorities recovered a ready-to-use suicide vest and a significant quantity of explosives from his possession, which he allegedly intended to use against a sensitive target.

In a separate operation in Sargodha, another high-risk militant involved in attacks on security forces was arrested. Preliminary investigations suggest that the suspects were actively planning large-scale attacks on police checkpoints across Punjab and were awaiting final instructions to execute their plans.

Security officials stated that the arrests have exposed a broader terrorist network operating in the province, aimed at destabilizing peace and security. The detained individuals have been shifted to an undisclosed location for further interrogation to identify their facilitators and dismantle the network.
