A school shooting in Turkey has shocked the country after the death toll rose to 10. The incident took place in the city of Kahramanmaras and comes just one day after another school attack in a different region. Together, these events have raised serious concerns about safety in educational institutions.

Authorities confirmed that one more injured person died in hospital, increasing the number of victims. Several others remain in critical condition, while rescue teams and medical staff continue treatment efforts. The attack has left families and the local community in deep shock.

Teen Gunman Opens Fire Inside Classrooms

According to officials, a 14 year old student entered two classrooms and opened fire without warning. The attacker reportedly used a firearm belonging to his father, who is a retired police officer. After the incident, the father was taken into custody for questioning.

As a result of the shooting, a teacher and multiple students lost their lives. Thirteen people were injured, many of them seriously. Emergency teams quickly reached the school and evacuated students, while security forces sealed off the area for investigation.

In addition, authorities are now reviewing how the student accessed the weapon and whether warning signs were missed before the attack. Investigations are still ongoing.

Wave of School Violence Raises National Alarm

Just one day before this incident, another shooting took place in Sanliurfa where a former student injured 16 people before taking his own life. Several individuals linked to that case have also been detained.

Following these back to back attacks, Turkish officials have called an emergency meeting on school security. Ministers of interior and education, along with police and provincial governors, discussed immediate safety measures.

Meanwhile, experts say such incidents are rare in Turkey, but the recent pattern has raised public fear. Authorities are now under pressure to strengthen security in schools and prevent further tragedies.

For now, investigations continue as the country tries to understand how two such incidents happened within days, shaking public confidence in school safety.
