Azad Jammu and Kashmir Prime Minister Faisal Mumtaz Rathore has said that restoring public trust in state institutions is the biggest achievement of his government. He made these remarks while speaking to a delegation of the TV Journalists Association in Muzaffarabad.

He said that if the government had not stayed close to the people and addressed their problems, the system could have faced serious challenges. However, despite limited time and pressure, rebuilding hope among citizens was an important step forward.

Transitioning from challenges to progress, the Prime Minister said that political activity in Azad Kashmir has now resumed. He added that public confidence in the democratic process is gradually returning.

Media Role and Development Priorities

The Prime Minister highlighted the importance of social and digital media in today’s world. He said these platforms can be powerful tools for promoting peace when used responsibly. However, he also warned that fake news and negative propaganda can threaten stability.

Furthermore, he stressed that responsible journalism is essential for a healthy democratic environment. He assured that the government will continue to support journalists and improve media working conditions.

He also emphasized that long term policy continuity is necessary for sustainable development. According to him, consistent governance for five to ten years is required to achieve self reliance and stability.

In addition, he informed that several delayed development projects have now been restarted. One of these includes the Muzaffarabad solid waste management project, which he described as an important step for public welfare.

Transitioning to the media sector, representatives of the TV Journalists Association briefed the Prime Minister on issues related to fake news and responsible reporting. He appreciated their efforts and encouraged them to continue supporting democratic values and political tolerance.

In conclusion, the Prime Minister said that rebuilding trust between the state and the public remains a key priority, and media cooperation is essential in achieving this goal.
