ISLAMABAD: Prime Minister Shehbaz Sharif received a telephone call from the President of the European Council, Antonio Costa, during which both leaders held detailed discussions on bilateral relations as well as important regional and global issues.

The main focus of the conversation was the current worrying situation in the Middle East and its wider international implications.

Pakistan’s Diplomatic Efforts

During the call, Prime Minister Shehbaz Sharif briefed the European Council President on Pakistan’s recent diplomatic efforts aimed at promoting peace and stability in the Middle East. He emphasized that Pakistan continues to play an active role in reducing tensions in the region and encouraging peaceful resolution of conflicts.

Consensus on Global and Regional Security

Both leaders exchanged views on various proposals to ensure long-term regional and global stability. Shehbaz Sharif and Antonio Costa agreed that the international community must work collectively for peace in order to prevent humanitarian crises and economic instability.

Emphasis on Continued Diplomatic Engagement

At the conclusion of the call, both sides stressed the importance of continuing diplomatic engagement to address ongoing challenges. The European Council President appreciated Pakistan’s constructive role in promoting peace in the region and expressed the desire to maintain close contact in the future.
