A concerning development has emerged on social media, where Pakistani users are reportedly being encouraged to share sensitive military information in exchange for money. According to a report by a social media account named “Pakistani Markhor,” certain Indian Telegram channels are allegedly attempting to lure Pakistani citizens with financial incentives to provide videos of Pakistan Army movements.
The report, which surfaced on the platform X, claims that these Telegram channels are systematically targeting unsuspecting individuals. Users are allegedly being offered payments in return for sharing footage of sensitive military locations and troop movements.
Security concerns rise over alleged digital espionage attempts
Security analysts have described this alleged network as a serious threat to national security. Experts warn that such activities could have harmful consequences if not addressed promptly, emphasizing the need for public awareness and vigilance against hostile digital tactics.
Officials and analysts stress that sharing any sensitive or unverified information online can compromise national interests and should be avoided under all circumstances.
Public urged to remain vigilant and report suspicious activity
Authorities have strongly advised citizens not to engage with such networks and to stay away from any activities that could harm national security. The public has been urged to immediately report suspicious online behavior to relevant authorities and help counter potential propaganda efforts.
Experts also recommend that users exercise caution on platforms such as Telegram and WhatsApp, particularly when approached by unknown individuals requesting information. According to security specialists, digital espionage tactics can only be countered through awareness, verification of information, and responsible online behavior.
Ensuring national security, they add, requires collective vigilance and proactive public cooperation.
