Security forces carried out a successful intelligence-based operation in Kurram District of Khyber Pakhtunkhwa, resulting in the killing of three militants, officials said.

Details of the Operation

According to security sources, the operation was launched after credible intelligence regarding the presence of militants in the area. Troops cordoned off the region and began a search operation, during which armed militants opened fire on security personnel, triggering a heavy exchange.

In the intense firefight, all three militants were killed. Weapons and ammunition were also recovered from their possession, officials added.

Casualties Among Security Forces

During the operation, two personnel of Pakistan Armed Forces were martyred while performing their duties. Following the encounter, the area was sealed off and additional forces were deployed for clearance operations.

Ongoing Clearance Operations

Authorities said that search and clearance operations are continuing to eliminate any remaining militant presence or support networks in the region.

Officials reiterated that operations against terrorism will continue until lasting peace is restored in the country.
