Islamabad – 24 April 2025: Pakistan responds to Indian actions after the Pahalgam attack in occupied Kashmir with strong decisions taken by the National Security Committee (NSC). Prime Minister Shehbaz Sharif chaired the meeting where leaders reviewed the security environment and recent Indian measures.

The NSC called India’s response to the Pahalgam incident politically motivated and legally baseless. It said the Kashmir dispute remains unresolved under UN resolutions. Pakistan supports Kashmiri self-determination and condemned India’s demographic changes and oppression in the region.

The NSC stated that linking Pakistan to the Pahalgam attack without investigation is irresponsible. It emphasized that India’s actions distract from its own failures. Pakistan highlighted India’s state-sponsored terrorism, mentioning Indian Navy officer Kulbhushan Jadhav’s confession.

Pakistan responds to Indian actions by suspending the Indus Waters Treaty, terming water a vital interest. Any attempt to divert it will be treated as an act of war. The NSC also considering to suspend all bilateral agreements, including the Simla Agreement.

Moreover, Pakistan will close the Wagah Border immediately. Indian nationals in Pakistan under SAARC visa exemptions must leave within 48 hours. All such visas are canceled, except for Sikh religious pilgrims.

Additionally, Pakistan declared Indian defense, naval, and air advisors persona non grata. They must exit by April 30. The Indian High Commission’s strength will be reduced to 30 staff members.

Moreover, Pakistan closed its airspace to all Indian-owned or operated airlines. It also suspended all trade with India, including third-country routes. The NSC concluded by affirming Pakistan’s commitment to defend its sovereignty at all costs.
