Badakhshan – The Afghanistan Freedom Front (AFF) claimed responsibility for a rocket attack on the Taliban’s 7th security zone near Television Hill in Faizabad on the evening of November 29, 2025. The group announced on X that clashes with Taliban militias lasted more than 15 minutes, involving both light and heavy weapons. According to the AFF, “three Taliban militiamen were killed and two others wounded during the operation.”
This strike marks the AFF’s third reported attack in Badakhshan, following earlier operations targeting the Faizabad airport gate in August 2023 and Baharak Jail in mid-November 2025. The group framed the attack as part of its ongoing resistance against the Taliban regime.
These attacks, according to security specialists, are part of a larger pattern of increasing instability in Afghanistan. The country’s conflict scene is complicated by the active resistance to Taliban control by numerous ethnic and regional groupings.
