Address at the Balochistan National Workshop
RAWALPINDI: Chief of Army Staff (COAS) Field Marshal General Syed Asim Munir said that “Balochistan is the pride of Pakistan” during his address at the 17th Balochistan National Workshop held at the General Headquarters (GHQ). According to the Inter-Services Public Relations (ISPR), the Army Chief described Balochistan as a province of highly capable, resilient, and patriotic people, calling its citizens the true assets of the nation.

Focus on Development and Youth Empowerment
The COAS stated that multiple measures are underway to ensure public welfare through social and economic development projects in the province. He stressed that Balochistan’s vast economic potential must be fully utilized for its progress.
He added that the role of youth in achieving sustainable development was crucial, urging them to unite on a constructive national agenda focused on progress and stability rather than political interests.
Pakistan’s Vision as a “Hard State”
Field Marshal Asim Munir also outlined Pakistan’s need to evolve into what he termed a “Hard State,” a country where all institutions, organizations, and departments operate strictly in accordance with the law and the Constitution.He said such a state functions through coordination and discipline across all pillars of national power, ensuring every institution works within its legal mandate for national stability and strength.
Counter-Terrorism Operations and Indian Involvement
The Army Chief stated that sabotage groups backed by India were attempting to spread unrest in Balochistan. He affirmed that operations against all terrorist elements were continuing and that the province would be completely rid of terrorism.
Commitment to Regional Peace and Sovereignty
Field Marshal Munir reaffirmed Pakistan’s commitment to regional peace and stability but warned that any violation of the country’s sovereignty would be met with a decisive and proportionate response.

The 17th Balochistan National Workshop brought together officials, professionals, and youth from across the province to discuss national security, governance, and development challenges.
