Quetta — Pakistani security forces have repelled a series of coordinated attacks carried out by Balochistan Liberation Army (BLA) terrorists at multiple locations across Balochistan, with officials confirming that the overall situation remains under control.

Security sources said the militants described the assaults as their second phase of “Operation Herof, 2.0.” following the failure of an earlier attempt that was also thwarted by security forces. Officials noted that the previous operation similarly failed to achieve any significant outcome.

According to security officials, terrorists targeted a police van on Quetta’s Saryab Road, but were met with an immediate response by police and Frontier Corps (FC) personnel, resulting in the killing of four attackers.

In separate incidents, militants carried out firing raids on the FC headquarters in Nushki and attempted a suicide-style attack on the FC headquarters in Dalbandin. Alert forces responded swiftly, forcing attackers to retreat in Nushki, while security forces cordoned off the Dalbandin area as an exchange of fire continued.

Further attacks were reported at the Deputy Commissioner’s office and police lines in Kalat, the Pakistan Coast Guards post in Pasni, and a laborers’ residential area in Gwadar, where police and FC units reached promptly and engaged the attackers.

Additional grenade and long-range firing attacks on security posts in Balicha, Tump, and Mastung were also reported, all of which were successfully repelled.

The first phase coincided with the 18th death anniversary of Nawab Akbar Bugti and failed to achieve any operational success.

Authorities confirmed that security forces remain in control across all affected areas, with coordinated responses underway. Initial reports indicate two to three security personnel sustained injuries, while militants suffered heavy losses.

Officials added that the latest attacks follow operations in which more than 50 terrorists were killed across Balochistan over the past 48 hours, reinforcing assessments that the violence represents an attempt by militants to regroup after recent setbacks.
