FATA Grand Jirga Reinforces for Peace in 2025

Peshawar | July 13 – The FATA Grand Jirga, organized by Jamiat Ulema-e-Islam FATA, will take place on Sunday, July 13 at 2 PM at the JUI Secretariat in Peshawar, according to the party’s spokesperson. The event is being held in response to the deteriorating security situation in the tribal areas.

Consultation on Security and Peace Restoration

The core purpose of the FATA Grand Jirga is to hold a detailed consultation on the worsening law and order conditions in FATA. Participants will discuss pressing concerns such as terrorism, targeted killings, and daily security threats impacting the tribal population.

The spokesperson emphasized that the gathering aims to develop a well-rounded understanding of these challenges and seek viable solutions to restore peace.

Focus on Public Welfare and Strategic Action

In addition to addressing security issues, the FATA Grand Jirga will also focus on the rehabilitation of affected communities and the resolution of public grievances. The JUI spokesperson confirmed that actionable suggestions will be presented to support displaced populations and restore normalcy in the region.

Furthermore, the jirga will work toward crafting a joint strategy for regional stability through unity and mutual cooperation among key stakeholders.

Participation of Tribal Elders and National Leadership

Prominent tribal elders, religious scholars, and political and social figures from across the region have been invited to take part in the FATA Grand Jirga. Most notably, Maulana Fazlur Rehman, the head of JUI, will attend as the chief guest.

The spokesperson confirmed that Maulana Fazlur Rehman will deliver a keynote address reflecting on the current situation and outlining a future course of action.
