Pakistan’s Defence Minister Khawaja Asif has rejected any comparison between Pakistan’s counterterrorism operations against TTP camps along the Afghanistan-Pakistan border and what he described as India’s illegal attacks on mosques and madrasas in Bahawalpur and Muridke.
In a statement posted on X, the minister said such comparisons are completely wrong and misleading.

Pakistan’s stance on terrorism and India
Khawaja Asif said the international community and the United Nations are also concerned about terrorism originating from Afghanistan under the shadow of the Afghan Taliban.
He said the daily movement of terrorist groups and fighters from Afghanistan into Pakistan is clear evidence of this threat.
Referring to the Pahalgam incident, the defence minister said India has failed to provide evidence to this day, while Pakistan has offered an impartial investigation.
He added that a United Nations report has already clarified that India’s aggression was illegal and unproven while Pakistan’s response was fully justified.
He said Pakistan has consistently removed doubts regarding India, its proxy Khwarij elements and their sympathizers.

Security operations in Khyber Pakhtunkhwa
Earlier, nine Indian-backed Khwarij belonging to Fitna Al Khwarij were killed in two separate intelligence-based operations in Khyber Pakhtunkhwa, according to Inter-Services Public Relations.
In Dera Ismail Khan district, security forces carried out an intelligence-based operation and killed four Khwarij after an intense exchange of fire.
In another operation in Bannu district, five more Khwarij were neutralized.
Security forces also recovered weapons and ammunition from the militants, who were involved in attacks on security personnel, law enforcement agencies and targeted killings of civilians.
Separately, security forces foiled an attack in North Waziristan after Khwarij attempted to breach the Boya fort following a suicide blast.
At least three terrorists were killed on the spot, while clearance operations continued to secure the area.
Officials say these actions highlight Pakistan’s firm resolve to counter terrorism and protect civilians, while rejecting attempts to draw false equivalence with India’s actions.
