Peshawar – The Speaker of the Khyber Pakhtunkhwa Assembly, Babar Saleem Swati, visited the Iranian Consulate in Peshawar on March 5, 2026, to express his condolences on the passing of Iran’s Supreme Leader, Ayatollah Ali Khamenei. During the visit, he met with Iranian Consul General Ali Banafsheh Khah and conveyed his heartfelt sympathies.

In the condolence register, Speaker Swati wrote about the profound loss felt by the Muslim Ummah. He described Ayatollah Khamenei as a symbol of unity and resistance for Muslims and emphasized that his passing represents a significant setback for the Muslim world.

Speaking on regional security, Speaker Swati strongly condemned attacks against Iran, calling such acts a threat to both regional and global peace. He underscored the importance of solidarity with the Iranian people in the face of aggression and expressed full support for their rights and security.

“May Allah grant the departed leader the highest place in Jannat al-Firdous,” Babar Saleem Swati stated during the visit, highlighting both his personal grief and the shared sorrow of the community.
