Jamiat Ulema-e-Islam (JUI-F) chief Maulana Fazal Ur Rehman, addressing a gathering at Dera Taji Khokhar, expressed a profound delight at the formal joining of Farkh Khokhar into the party ranks. The event, which saw new acceptances into the JUI-F, served as a platform for Maulana Rehman to reiterate the party’s unwavering commitment to establishing an Islamic Democratic state in Pakistan and to voice strong concerns regarding the nation’s prevailing economic crisis and perceived societal challenges.

Maulana Rehman, addressing the audience, said the entry of Farkh Khokhar into JUI is a welcome development that would only serve to strengthen the party. He stressed that the JUI will never stop fighting until Pakistan is governed following Islamic ideology and that the party has been tireless in its effort to apply the aspects of Islam to the national constitution on every platform.

He particularly pointed out the JUI’s role in advocating the sanctity of Khtam-e-Nabuwat (Finality of Prophethood), stating that the party had managed to coerce the court to change its position on this matter. He broadened his appeal, calling upon Muslims worldwide to unite and raise their voice against the dishonouring of Islam.

The JUI-F chief expressed his concerns regarding internal forces, stating his belief that “a specific lobby is working against the Islamic norms in Pakistan to weaken the Islamic bonds.” He highlighted the fundamental ideology of Pakistan, stating that Pakistan had been formed in the name of Islam; thus, there should be no compromise on its ideological platform. Maulana Rehman also emphasized the desire of JUI for the “superiority of law and order in the country.”

Shifting his focus to the dire economic situation of the country, Maulana painted a bleak picture of the lives of common citizens. People are enduring severe hardships owing to inflation, he lamented, highlighting the nation’s economic decline. He starkly contrasted with neighbouring countries, which he noted were experiencing success while Pakistan remained “stuck in a loop of economic downfall.”

He claimed that real progress in the country cannot be achieved “unless the lives of ordinary people are improved.” The large demonstration at Farkh Khokhar’s Dera, according to Maulana, is a bitter reminder of the political fiasco in Islamabad and Rawalpindi, representing a detachment between the political elite and the plight of the citizens.

Maulana Fazal Ur Rehman’s address at Dera Taji Khokhar thus underscored the JUI-F’s dual focus: the party’s unwavering commitment to establishing an Islamic Democratic state in Pakistan, alongside a vocal critique of the current government’s economic policies and their impact on the common person. The growing numbers within the JUI-F, as symbolized by Farkh Khokhar’s joining, suggest the party aims to leverage public discontent to further its political and ideological agenda.
