ISLAMABAD-APRIL,2- A group of Muslim-majority countries has strongly condemned Israel’s new legislation allowing the imposition of the death penalty in the occupied West Bank, warning that the move could further escalate tensions and destabilize the region.
In a joint statement, the foreign ministers of Pakistan, Türkiye, Egypt, Indonesia, Jordan, Qatar, Saudi Arabia, and the United Arab Emirates denounced the law, saying it specifically targets Palestinians and raises serious human rights concerns.
The statement emphasized that such measures risk deepening divisions and reinforcing discriminatory practices, while undermining the rights and security of Palestinians living under occupation.

Officials also warned that the legislation could worsen conditions for Palestinian prisoners and increase instability across the region at an already sensitive time.
Pakistan highlighted that the move represents a dangerous escalation, stressing that it could weaken ongoing efforts toward peace and further complicate the regional security landscape.
The joint response also called for accountability under international law, urging the protection of civilians and detainees, and stressing the need for a coordinated international effort to address the situation.
Analysts say the unified stance reflects growing diplomatic coordination among Muslim countries, aimed at countering developments seen as harmful to regional stability and human rights.
