ISLAMABAD – Lieutenant General Ahmed Sharif Chaudhry, DG Inter-Services Public Relations (ISPR), disclosed in a press briefing that Pakistan’s security forces have carried out 62,113 intelligence-based operations nationwide in 2025. These efforts resulted in the elimination of 1,667 terrorists, while 4,373 terrorist incidents were recorded across the country.
“These operations demonstrate the relentless commitment of Pakistan’s armed forces to safeguard the nation against terrorism,” said DG ISPR. On average, 208 operations are conducted daily, highlighting the constant vigilance and strategic planning of the security forces.
Casualties and Impact of Terrorism in 2025
According to the DG ISPR, the terrorism wave has claimed the lives of 1,073 Pakistani citizens, including 584 army personnel, 133 law enforcement officials, and 356 civilians. These figures underscore the human cost of ongoing security challenges and the dedication of security personnel in defending the nation.
Khyber Pakhtunkhwa: The Most Affected Province
DG ISPR reported that Khyber Pakhtunkhwa witnessed 514 terrorist incidents this year, resulting in the deaths of 77 militants. Security forces suffered 36 fatalities, alongside 1 police officer and 12 civilians. Additional casualties included 138 injured security personnel, 2 police officers, and 11 civilians.
“The province remains a key focus area for counter-terrorism operations, and security forces continue to prevent multiple attacks, restoring stability to affected regions successfully,” he added.
National Resolve Against Terrorism
Lieutenant General Ahmed Sharif Chaudhry emphasized that Pakistan’s fight against terrorism is a national duty, requiring the joint efforts of both security forces and the public. He paid tribute to the sacrifices of martyrs, stating:
“Their sacrifices are a guarantee for Pakistan’s peace and stability. Our enemies will be defeated, and the light of peace and development will prevail over the darkness of terrorism.”
DG ISPR reaffirmed that Pakistan’s security agencies remain committed to eliminating terrorism and will continue targeted intelligence-based operations to protect citizens and national interests.
