Quetta – Pakistan security forces have in a major intelligence-based operation eliminated a dangerous network of the Baloch Liberation Army (BLA) Majeed Brigade and thwarted a massive terrorist act that could have resulted in a major disaster in Balochistan.

The raid at his home involved the arrest and capture of a university lecturer Muhammad Usman of Balochistan University of Information Technology, Engineering and Management Sciences (BUITEMS) who is reportedly the mastermind behind a terror network of suicide bombers and major facilitator of terrorism activities.

Video Confession

In a video message, Usman alias Ameer confessed to the crimes of providing shelter to the militants and having links with the BLA. In his confession, he admitted that his links with BLA were established back in 2020 during his Phd through some friends in QAU, who were linked with the terrorist organization.

In a video message, Dr Usman Qazi alias Ameer confessed the crimes and links with BLA.

He revealed that he was given 3 orders upon reaching Quetta. First was to give shelter to a militant named Sherdill who was injured in a fighting in Kalat. Additionally in November, he gave shelter to Rafiq Bizenjo, the suicide bomber behind the November 2024’s railway blast.

And recently he provided shelter for another militant Nauman alias Peerak for 7 to 8 days, then handed him over to Jameel alias Najeeb. He was trained for causing destruction in the Independence day events in the province.

He mentioned that Dr. Harbiyar Marri and Fikalik were the ones to include him in the organization. And later on he was connected with Bashir Zaib for further coordination.  He pointed out that the orders were given through Telegram, a messaging app.

Usman got his MPhil degree from Quaid – e – Azam University (QAU), Islamabad and Phd from Peshawar University on a HEC scholarship. He was currently working as a professor at BUITEMS. His wife is also a government officer, as per the video.

Usman, who belongs to Turbat, added with deep remorse that “the government provided everything for me and my family, yet I decided to betray it.” And asked students to stay away from militant activities

The latest big plan, codenamed “Herof-II,” was aimed at causing a spree of terror in Balochistan. The attack was to be carried out by a massive arsenal of 32 suicide bombers and 4 vehicle-borne improvised explosive devices (VBIEDs).

The terrorists were getting ready to attack with bloodshed in the different cities of Balochistan, especially Quetta on the day of Independence Day. Everything was in place and Pakistani forces were just in time to stop the plot and prevent a disaster, highlighting the alertness of security forces.

The disclosure that a university lecturer was in the center of this terrorist network has generated deep questions and concerns. It raises concerns about the misleading aspects of the threat and how extremist ideologies have penetrated into learning institutions, which should be the source of knowledge and peace.

The Baloch Unity Committee (BYC) is reportedly demanding the release of Muhammad Usman despite the strong evidence that was provided by the security forces. This demand is a question mark on the face of justice and a conspiracy to misguide students further.
