Pakistan hosted a landmark Regional Chiefs of Defense Conference on Saturday, bringing together senior military officials from the United States, Kazakhstan, Kyrgyzstan, Tajikistan, and Uzbekistan. The conference aimed to strengthen regional security cooperation, promote military diplomacy, and enhance strategic dialogue.
According to a statement from the Inter-Services Public Relations (ISPR), the event focused on the theme of “Stability Through Connectivity and Preserving Peace.” Participants discussed regional counterterrorism strategies, training initiatives, and the exchange of security-related insights.
Field Marshal Syed Asim Munir, Pakistan’s Chief of Army Staff, welcomed the delegates and reiterated Pakistan’s firm commitment to regional peace and stability. He emphasized that “in light of shared global threats and complex security challenges, international military cooperation and mutual trust have become more crucial than ever. Pakistan remains committed to a secure and prosperous region.”
During the conference, military leaders engaged in in-depth discussions on the evolving strategic environment in South and Central Asia, regional collaboration in counterterrorism, and coordinated responses to humanitarian crises. The importance of interoperability, capacity-building, and multilateral engagement was underscored.
Delegates commended Pakistan’s leadership and hosting of the conference. They reaffirmed the importance of joint responses to threats such as terrorism, cyberattacks, and violent extremism, and emphasized respect for sovereignty and shared security interests.
