Pakistan’s Ministry of Foreign Affairs has strongly rejected the statement issued by India’s Ministry of External Affairs criticizing Pakistan’s recent counterterrorism operations inside Afghanistan.
The spokesperson for the ministry, Mr. Tahir Andrabi, said that Pakistan’s actions against terrorist hideouts and support bases in Afghanistan were legal, precise, and necessary. He described India’s criticism as “absurd, unwarranted, and hypocritical.” According to the statement, India’s frustration reflects the destruction of terrorist networks it supports in Afghanistan, including groups like Fitna-al-Khawarij and Fitna-al-Hindustan.
The spokesperson added that Pakistan’s operations are fully in line with international law and the United Nations Charter. Pakistan will continue to take all necessary measures to protect its citizens and prevent cross-border attacks.
Accusations Against India: Human Rights and Regional Stability
In its response, Pakistan also highlighted India’s alleged actions that undermine regional peace. The statement pointed to India’s continued occupation of Indian Illegally Occupied Jammu and Kashmir and the human rights violations reported there. Pakistan accused India of committing state terrorism in the occupied region and marginalizing minorities within its borders.
The statement further claimed that India spreads Islamophobia, has weaponized water resources, and often acts as a spoiler in Afghanistan. “With such a record, India is in no position to criticize Pakistan’s legitimate actions,” Mr. Andrabi said.
Pakistan’s Ministry of Foreign Affairs emphasized that India should instead focus on stopping support for terrorist activities against Pakistan from Afghan soil. The statement reiterated that Pakistan’s efforts are defensive and aimed at protecting the country and its citizens.
Looking Ahead: Pakistan’s Firm Stance
The government of Pakistan remains committed to maintaining security and taking targeted actions against terrorist networks. Officials said these steps are necessary to safeguard the nation and regional stability. Pakistan also called on India to refrain from comments that could further inflame tensions and complicate peace in the region.
