ISLAMABAD: In a critical DG ISPR press briefing, Lieutenant General Ahmed Sharif Chaudhry reaffirmed that Pakistan’s policies are determined independently, without succumbing to external pressures. He emphasized that the Pakistan Army operates strictly under the constitution and law, maintaining a neutral stance in politics. “The army does not wish to engage in politics and must remain separate from political affairs,” he stated firmly.
Effective Response to Cross-Border Threats
During heightened Pak-Afghan tensions, security operations have neutralized 206 Afghan Taliban and 112 Fitna al-Khawarij operatives. DG ISPR explained that the Fitna al-Khawarij leader had pledged allegiance to the Afghan Taliban, and their attacks are being orchestrated from Afghan soil, targeting Pakistan.
Demands to the Afghan Interim Government
Pakistan has repeatedly demanded that the Afghan interim government prevent its territory from being used by terrorists. Despite these warnings, cross-border attacks continue. DG ISPR underscored Pakistan’s commitment to counterterrorism, affirming that every step will be taken against any group threatening national security.
Warning to India Against False Flag Operations
DG ISPR also highlighted India’s ambitions, warning that New Delhi may attempt false-flag operations to propagate anti-Pakistan narratives. “Any hostile action by land, sea, or air will be met with a stronger and more decisive response than before,” he asserted.
Pakistan’s Solidarity with Palestine
Reiterating Pakistan’s foreign policy stance, DG ISPR stated that Pakistan stands firmly with the oppressed Palestinians, condemning atrocities in Gaza. He called upon the international community to push for an immediate ceasefire, emphasizing Pakistan’s unwavering support for justice and UN resolutions.
Army Readiness and Public Assurance
Concluding the briefing, Lieutenant General Chaudhry assured the nation that the Pakistan Army is always prepared to defend its people, protect sovereignty, and uphold national honor. He urged citizens to trust official statements on national security and remain cautious of social media misinformation.
