Islamabad, February 2026 – Pakistan has clarified that it will not be among the five nations committing troops to the newly proposed International Stabilisation Force (ISF) in Gaza, part of the US-led Board of Peace initiative aimed at consolidating the ceasefire and supporting reconstruction efforts in the conflict-hit Palestinian territory.
Diplomatic Engagement Over Military Deployment
Despite opting out of sending troops, Pakistan has reaffirmed its active engagement in the Board of Peace to advocate for Palestinian rights and self-determination. Officials emphasized that participation in discussions ensures Pakistan has a seat at the table, enabling it to raise a firm and effective voice for the people of Palestine.
Support for Palestinian Rights and Reconstruction
Information Minister Ataullah Tarar stated that Pakistan’s diplomatic involvement allows it to highlight Palestinian aspirations for a contiguous and sovereign state, in line with United Nations Security Council resolutions. Pakistan continues to stress that Palestinians must have full control over their land and future, and reconstruction aid must be aligned with humanitarian principles.
Balancing National Interests and Regional Stability
By refraining from committing troops, Pakistan signals a measured approach—supporting peace and stability in Gaza without overextending militarily.
