Pakistan_ Pakistan has strongly criticized the recent comments made by India’s External Affairs Minister S. Jaishankar, calling them “highly inflammatory, baseless and irresponsible.”
In an official statement issued today, the Foreign Office of Pakistan said India’s attempt to target Pakistan’s armed forces was misleading and part of a broader propaganda campaign.
The evidence of this propaganda campaign has been shared by EU DisinfoLab. The EU DisinfoLab reports exposes a vast network of over 750 media outlets across 116 countries, more than 550 registered domains, fake identities, impersonated EU institutions, and UN-accredited NGOs, all used since 2005 to push coordinated Indian disinformation against Pakistan
Foreign Office spokesperson Tahir Andrabi said, “Pakistan categorically rejects and condemns the highly inflammatory, baseless and irresponsible comments made by the Indian External Affairs Minister in his recent statement.” The statement added that Pakistan views these remarks as an attempt to defame its institutions and divert attention from India’s own destabilizing actions in the region.
FO says Indian remarks aim to distract from its regional actions
Responding to media queries, Andrabi emphasized Pakistan’s commitment to national security “Pakistan is a responsible state and it’s all institutions, including armed forces, are a pillar of national security, dedicated to safeguarding the sovereignty and territorial integrity of the country.”
He highlighted that the May 2025 conflict demonstrated the professionalism and resolve of Pakistan’s armed forces: “They defended the motherland and the people of Pakistan against any Indian aggression in a befitting, effective yet responsible manner. No amount of propaganda can belie this truth.”
Moreover, he highlighted Indian leadership of running a smear campaign: “Attempts by Indian leadership to defame Pakistan’s state institutions and its leadership are a part of propaganda campaign designed to distract the attention from India’s destabilizing actions in the region and beyond as well as State-sponsored terrorism in Pakistan.”
Pakistan urges India to examine its Hindutva policies
In a strongly worded section, the FO said, “India must investigate the fascist and revisionist Hindutva ideology that has unleashed a reign of mob justice, lynching’s, arbitrary detentions and demolition of properties and places of worship.”
The statement concluded on Pakistan’s diplomatic stance: “Pakistan believes in co-existence, dialogue and diplomacy. However, it stands united and resolute in its intent and ability to safeguard its interests and sovereignty.”
