The Pakistan Super League’s historic 11th edition will be played from March 26 to May 3 next year, Pakistan Cricket Board Chairman Mohsin Naqvi announced during a PSL Roadshow panel discussion.
The announcement confirms the longest and most expansive season in the league’s history which underlines the PSL’s growing stature in world cricket.
Speaking to an audience that included current national players Shan Masood, Salman Ali Agha, Saim Ayub, Saud Shakeel, Faheem Ashraf and Abrar Ahmed, alongside legends Wasim Akram and Ramiz Raja, the PCB chairman said the dates were finalized after strong interest from international investors.
He added that the PCB is planning to stage the final on May 3 to conclude a competitive 35-40 day window for international and national players.

PSL expansion and new franchise auction
PSL 11 edition will feature from six to eight teams, the league’s first major restructuring since 2018.
Two new franchises will join the competition, increasing opportunities for local players and broadening the PSL’s national footprint.
Naqvi confirmed that the auction for the two new teams will now take place on January 8.
The bid submission deadline has been extended to December 22, 2025, after what the PCB described as unprecedented interest from Europe, the United States, the Middle East and other regions.
According to the PCB chairman, the decision was taken to give potential investors more time due to the strong response generated by recent roadshows, including a high-profile event at Lord’s Cricket Ground in London.
Growing global appeal of the PSL
The PSL’s expanding international appeal was further reflected in the growing presence of overseas stars.
This season, South African batter Faf du Plessis and England all-rounder Moeen Ali opted to feature in the PSL. A development seen as a strong endorsement of the league’s competitiveness, professionalism and player environment.
The league’s rising profile builds on recent on-field success as well.
Last season, Lahore Qalandars lifted the PSL trophy under the captaincy of Shaheen Shah Afridi adding to the tournament’s strong local following and competitive balance.
Since its launch in 2016 with five teams, the PSL has steadily evolved into one of cricket’s most watched T20 leagues.
With a longer window, two new franchises and increasing global investment, PSL 11 is being positioned as a landmark edition that reflects Pakistan cricket’s confidence and growing influence on the international stage.
