Islamabad: The federal government has announced a significant increase in petroleum product prices, effective from midnight tonight.
According to the notification, petrol prices have been raised by Rs. 137.23 per litre, bringing the new price to Rs. 458.40 per litre.
Similarly, diesel prices have increased by Rs. 184.49 per litre, bringing the new diesel price to Rs. 520.35 per litre.
Officials said the price hike is due to rising global oil prices, though no further details have been provided.
After the implementation of the new prices, concerns have emerged about rising inflation across the country, which may also impact transport and the cost of essential goods.
