Two Policemen Martyred in IED Blast Targeting Armoured Vehicle in Dera

DI KHAN_A tragic and condemnable terrorist attack struck Dera Ismail Khan, where the Takwara police post’s armoured personnel carrier (APC) was targeted with a powerful improvised explosive device (IED). The blast occurred on Hathala–Glutti Road near Karrhi Malang after unknown militants detonated roadside explosives using a remote-control device.

Two Policemen Embrace Martyrdom

The explosion resulted in the martyrdom of two brave police personnel. Constable Saifur Rehman and vehicle driver Ramzan lost their lives while performing duty in one of the district’s high-risk zones. Their sacrifice adds to the long list of officers who continue to confront terrorism on the front lines.

Four Security Personnel Injured

Four personnel sustained injuries in the blast, including Mahboob Alam, Asif Rehman, police constable Kifayat, and an FC Havaldar named Shahid. All injured officials were immediately shifted to a nearby hospital, where they are receiving medical treatment.

Security Forces Launch Search Operation

Soon after the attack, security forces cordoned off the entire area and launched a search operation to trace the perpetrators. Evidence from the blast site has been collected, and investigations are underway to identify the group responsible.

Ongoing Threat in the Region

The nature of the attack highlights the persistent threat posed by militant groups in Khyber Pakhtunkhwa. Police and security forces continue to risk their lives daily to maintain peace and stability despite increasing IED attacks targeting patrolling units and check-posts.
