New York | July 24, 2025— The Pakistan-India conflict at the UN took another sharp turn during a heated session of the United Nations Security Council, where Pakistan’s Deputy Permanent Representative, Usman Javed Jadoon, delivered a firm and detailed rebuttal to India’s accusations.

Pakistan Rebukes Indian Allegations at the UN

He reminded the global audience that India’s illegal occupation of Jammu and Kashmir has continued in defiance of UN Security Council resolutions, depriving the Kashmiri people of their right to self-determination. In addition, he accused India of sponsoring terrorismnot only in Pakistan but in other neighboring countries as well. “India’s track record of supporting subversive elements has been well documented,” Jadoon asserted. He backed his claims by referring to multiple reports from international human rights organizations, which have highlighted India’s ongoing discrimination against minorities, especially Muslims, Christians, and Dalits.

Human Rights Violations and Treaty Breach Exposed

Moving forward, Jadoon highlighted India’s internal human rights abuses, pointing out increasing crackdowns on journalists, arbitrary detentions, and discriminatory policies targeting religious minorities. According to Jadoon, the Pakistan-India conflict at the UN also stems from India’s unwillingness to align its domestic conduct with international norms.

Moreover, Jadoon criticized India for violating international law by unilaterally suspending the Indus Waters Treaty. He called this move an attempt to economically cripple Pakistan by denying its access to water resources guaranteed under the bilateral agreement. “Such unilateral actions undermine regional peace and stability,” Jadoon declared.

He also referenced the Indian military aggression in May 2025, where India reportedly targeted Pakistani civilians. In contrast, Pakistan, adhering strictly to international law, responded only by targeting Indian military installations. “Our retaliation was proportionate and in accordance with the law of armed conflict,” he emphasized.

Pakistan’s Strategic Defense and Call for Peaceful Resolution

Jadoon proudly revealed the outcome of Pakistan’s defensive measures, stating that six Indian warplanes were successfully shot down, resulting in significant military losses for India. He credited Pakistan’s effective defense strategy and U.S. diplomatic mediation for preventing the situation from escalating into a full-scale war.

“The de-escalation of tensions became possible only because of Pakistan’s calculated and responsible response,” Jadoon explained. He expressed appreciation for international partners who played a constructive role in de-escalating the Pakistan-India conflict at the UN.

As the debate closed, Jadoon made a strong appeal to India to honor its international commitments. “India must stop shifting blame and instead focus on fulfilling its obligations under the UN Charter and Security Council resolutions especially regarding Kashmir,” he urged.

He concluded by advising India to take concrete steps toward regional peace. “Only through acknowledging international obligations and addressing core issues like Jammu and Kashmir can the region move forward,” he said.
