ISLAMABAD_ Pakistan Super League (PSL) franchises Lahore Qalandars, Peshawar Zalmi, and Quetta Gladiators have renewed their franchise rights for another ten years, the Pakistan Cricket Board (PCB) announced on Monday. The agreements come as the PSL prepares to expand to eight teams from its 11th edition next year. https://x.com/htnworld/status/1992999613696295148?s=20

According to the PCB, the renewal process was completed at market valuations derived from assessments by global audit firm Ernst & Young, following what the board described as a “comprehensive and transparent evaluation”.

Lahore Qalandars Extend Rights as League’s Most Valuable Franchise

Lahore Qalandars, the PSL’s highest-valued franchise and winners of three out of the last four PSL editions under Pakistan ODI captain Shaheen Shah Afridi, were among the first to confirm their continuation.

PCB Chairman Mohsin Naqvi congratulated Qalandars’ owners, Atif Rana and Sameen Rana, praising their efforts in transforming the team into “a household name across Pakistan and a globally recognized cricketing brand”.

Peshawar Zalmi Also Renews 10-Year Tenure.

Peshawar Zalmi, champions of PSL 2017 and one of the league’s most popular and marketable teams, also renewed their rights. Led by owner Javed Afridi, Zalmi have consistently maintained one of the strongest fan bases in the league and were the most-watched franchise during the previous PSL season, according to the PCB.

Chairman Mohsin Naqvi lauded Afridi’s “commitment, professionalism and passion”, crediting his leadership for making Zalmi “one of the most dynamic and admired sporting entities in Pakistan”. He added that Afridi’s decision to renew his contract reflected “confidence in the PSL’s future potential”.
