Islamabad_ A two-day workshop titled “Innovista – Digital Skills for the Modern World” was successfully organized by the Pakistan Asia Youth Forum in collaboration with Iqra University. Which aimed to equip young people with essential tools for online safety, digital literacy, and responsible media engagement.
The workshop focused on practical awareness at a time when misinformation and digital vulnerabilities continue to rise.
Experts highlight digital responsibility and fact-checking skills
The training featured sessions from leading experts in digital security, media literacy, and strategic communication. A large number of Pakistani and Afghan students participated, reflecting the growing regional interest in digital competence.
Chief Guest Dr. Adnan, Associate Dean at Iqra University, opened the event by emphasizing that digital skills are now essential for academic and professional success.
Renowned analyst Salman Javed delivered a detailed talk on “Misinformation and Strategic Narratives in the Digital Age,” explaining how misleading content spreads online and how state and non-state actors shape narratives.
Digital fact-checking specialist Noor-ul-Huda trained students in verifying images, videos, and online news through modern tools.
Halima Khalid strengthened participants’ analytical and critical thinking abilities through practical media verification exercises.
Cybersecurity expert Waqas Saeed gave an extensive briefing on online protection, secure digital identity, and the importance of privacy in today’s interconnected world.
Students praise workshop as timely and impactful
Students, teachers, and young leaders from various universities described the workshop as an important initiative given current digital challenges.
Participants said the training enhanced their confidence in navigating the online space, improved their fact-checking skills, and helped them understand the need for responsible digital behavior.
At the closing session, the Pakistan Asia Youth Forum thanked the experts and Iqra University’s administration, reaffirming its commitment to continue launching programs that intellectually, technically, and digitally empower Pakistani youth.
