The United States has strongly condemned the recent wave of terrorist attacks in Balochistan and reaffirmed its support for Pakistan’s efforts to restore peace and stability in the region.

US Charge d’Affaires Natalie Baker said on Sunday that Washington stood in solidarity with Pakistan following the January 31 terrorist attacks, which targeted security forces and civilians in Balochistan.

In a statement posted on X, she said the attacks were carried out by the Balochistan Liberation Army (BLA) a group designated by the US as a Foreign Terrorist Organization.

“The United States strongly condemns these terrorist attacks and all acts of violence against civilians and security personnel,” Baker said.

She also extended condolences to the victims, their families and all those affected, adding that the Pakistani people deserve to live without fear and violence.

She stressed that the United States remained a “steadfast partner” of Pakistan and would continue supporting its efforts to ensure peace and stability during difficult times.

Terrorist attacks and security response in Balochistan

The US statement came after a series of coordinated terrorist attacks across Balochistan on Saturday. According to the Inter-Services Public Relations (ISPR), terrorists linked to Fitna-al-Hindustan attempted to destabilize the province by carrying out attacks in Quetta, Mastung, Nushki, Dalbandin, Kharan, Panjgur, Tump, Gwadar and Pasni.

Security forces responded swiftly killing 92 terrorists during counterterrorism operations.

A bomb blast was also reported in Quetta, prompting Balochistan Chief Minister Sarfraz Bugti to visit the city and review the security situation.

Interior Minister Mohsin Naqvi blamed India for sponsoring terrorism in Balochistan and said authorities would pursue not only the attackers but also those backing them.

Besides the US, Britain, Saudi Arabia and Qatar also condemned the attacks. The BLA has been responsible for repeated violence in the province and was formally designated as a terrorist organization by the US in August 2025.

Despite heavy militant losses in 2025, Pakistan saw a sharp rise in terrorist violence last year highlighting the continuing security challenges facing the country.
