Armed individuals launched an attack from Afghanistan’s Kunar province on border posts in Baizai Tehsil of Mohmand district, resulting in intense firing and clashes. According to local sources, the attack came from the Kunar Shar district side, where dozens of armed men targeted Pakistani security forces’ posts.

Sources report that some villages in the cross-border area had been evacuated in advance. Afterward, heavily armed individuals reached near the Pakistani border and began firing on the posts. Security officials said that forces responded immediately and effectively, leading to ongoing intense clashes in the area.

Preliminary information indicates that nearly 200 attackers were involved. Some sources claim that banned Tehrik-i-Taliban Pakistan (TTP) elements may have participated, though this has not yet been officially confirmed.

Security authorities stated that the situation is being closely monitored, and additional personnel have been deployed to border areas. Details regarding possible casualties or damage are not yet clear.

Meanwhile, Afghan authorities have not issued any immediate official response. Tensions continue in the region, and more information is awaited.
