Senior officials from Pakistan, Saudi Arabia, Türkiye and Egypt meet in Islamabad to discuss regional cooperation and diplomatic ties.

Islamabad: A key meeting of senior officials from Pakistan, Saudi Arabia, Türkiye, and Egypt was held in Islamabad, where detailed consultations took place on mutual cooperation, diplomatic relations, and regional issues. Discussions also focused on finalizing the agenda for the upcoming foreign ministers’ meeting.

According to a statement issued by the Ministry of Foreign Affairs, the meeting was held as a continuation of the consultative session of foreign ministers that took place on March 29. Senior officials from the foreign ministries of all four countries participated and exchanged views on various matters.

The statement added that the consultations from this meeting will be presented at the upcoming foreign ministers’ meeting, which will be held on April 17 in Antalya, Türkiye, on the sidelines of the Antalya Diplomacy Forum.

Senior officials also held a joint meeting with Deputy Prime Minister and Foreign Minister Ishaq Dar and Foreign Secretary Amna Baloch, where ongoing diplomatic efforts and the future course of action were discussed.

Meanwhile, according to sources, issues related to reducing tensions between Iran and the United States and the possible resumption of talks may also come under discussion at the Antalya meeting. However, no official agenda has been released in this regard.

It is worth noting that the meeting of the four countries’ foreign ministers is being seen as an important development in the context of ongoing diplomatic engagements in the region.
