China and Russia emphasize ceasefire and dialogue in the Middle East during high-level talks in Beijing.

Chinese President Xi Jinping and Russian President Vladimir Putin held a high-level strategic meeting at the Great Hall of the People in Beijing, where President Putin arrived on an official state visit and was given a formal and grand reception. The two leaders discussed a wide range of bilateral relations, economic cooperation, and key global issues, with special focus on the ongoing situation in the Middle East.

Middle East and Global Economy

Expressing concern over the escalating situation in the Middle East, Chinese President Xi Jinping stressed that dialogue and negotiations are now more important than ever, and an immediate end to ongoing hostilities has become essential. He emphasized that ending the conflict in the region would not only stabilize global energy supplies but also help reduce disruptions in the international trade system.

On this occasion, Russian President Vladimir Putin assured that despite the ongoing crisis in the Middle East, Russia will continue to play its role as a reliable global energy supplier.

Call for Fair Global Governance

President Xi Jinping stated that China and Russia should work together to promote a fair, balanced, and rational system of global governance. He described political mutual trust and strategic cooperation as the foundation of bilateral relations and stressed that both countries should actively support each other’s development and economic recovery.

Strong Bilateral Relations

Russian President Vladimir Putin praised the current state of China–Russia relations, saying that ties between the two countries are at an unprecedented level and that economic cooperation is progressing positively.

He further noted that stable China–Russia relations are contributing to global stability. At the end of the meeting, President Putin officially invited Chinese President Xi Jinping to visit Russia next year.
