Peshawar – 17 April 2025: In a rare display of community engagement, children and parents from Ol Khan Kali—Pakistan’s last historic village near the Torkham border in Khyber district—actively participated in a school enrollment awareness walk. The initiative of school enrollment drive Ol Khan Kali is part of a broader national campaign.. A camapign to promote primary education, took place at the local government primary school for the new academic session.

Local leaders including Tehsil Council Member Shaos Khan Shinwari, community elders Haji Inaam Shinwari, Haji Wali Jan Shinwari, and Khair Gul took part in the walk. They urged parents to recognize education as a basic right and ensure timely enrollment of their children.

Speaking on the occasion of school enrollment drive Ol Khan Kali, Shaos Khan and Haji Inaam Shinwari emphasized that parents should enroll their four-year-old children in schools without delay. “Education is the key to real progress and prosperity,” they said. “Delaying school enrollment wastes valuable time and deprives children of their fundamental right to learn.”
