Brigadier (Retd) Rashid Naseer has secured another major legal victory in a British court against YouTuber Adil Raja. The UK Court of Appeal has refused to hear Raja’s appeal, bringing the long-running defamation case to a complete close.
According to Geo News, the Court of Appeal upheld an earlier High Court ruling and denied Adil Raja permission to appeal. The court also rejected his request to block the High Court decision and refused to allow new evidence. With this decision, the case has officially ended.
As a result, the ruling in favor of Brigadier Rashid Naseer now stands as final.
Court Upholds High Court Ruling
Earlier, the High Court of Justice ruled that Adil Raja had defamed Brigadier Rashid Naseer. Justice Richard Spearman KC decided the case in Naseer’s favor and ordered Raja to issue a public apology.
The court directed that the apology remain clearly visible for 28 days on Raja’s social media platforms. These included X, formerly Twitter, Facebook, YouTube, and his personal website. The ruling aimed to ensure that the apology reached the same audience that had seen the original allegations.
In addition, the court ordered Adil Raja to pay a total of £310,000. This amount included £50,000 in damages and £260,000 in legal costs. Any further expenses were to be calculated later.
Appeal Rejected and Case Closed
Adil Raja later filed an application to appeal the High Court ruling. However, that request was rejected at the initial stage. He then sought permission from the Court of Appeal, which has now also refused to hear the case.
As a result, there are no further legal options available in this matter. Legal observers say the refusal confirms the strength of the original ruling and marks a clear legal win for Brigadier Rashid Naseer.
The outcome also reinforces the accountability of online content creators under UK defamation laws. With the appeal rejected, the court’s orders remain in force, including the apology and payment of damages.
For Brigadier Rashid Naseer, the decision brings a decisive end to the case and is being widely described as a complete legal victory.
