The Afghanistan Cricket Board has announced that the upcoming cricket series between the Afghanistan national cricket team and the Sri Lanka national cricket team has been postponed.
The series was originally scheduled to begin on March 13 and was expected to take place in the United Arab Emirates. However, officials decided to delay the matches until the later months of 2026 due to the current security situation in the region.
According to the Afghanistan Cricket Board, the decision was taken after assessing the prevailing security environment, which was deemed unsuitable for hosting the series at this time. The board indicated that the fixtures will now be rescheduled for the final months of the year once conditions improve.
The postponement means both teams will have to adjust their international schedules, while cricket authorities continue to monitor the situation before confirming new dates for the series.
