Ahmad Massoud, the head of Afghanistan’s National Resistance Front, has strongly criticized the Taliban, accusing them of sponsoring various terrorist organizations and forcing the Afghan people to face continuous crises and conflicts.

Speaking at a ceremony marking the 31st anniversary of the martyrdom of Abdul Ali Mazari, Massoud said the Taliban’s policies have turned Afghanistan into a playground for regional security challenges and geopolitical competition. According to him, the Taliban have provided safe havens on Afghan soil to several militant organizations.

He claimed that groups such as Al-Qaeda, Tehrik-i-Taliban Pakistan, Jaish al-Adl, and the Tajik militant group Ansarullah are present in Afghanistan and are operating under Taliban patronage. According to Massoud, the presence of these groups has become a threat not only to Afghanistan but also to the security of the entire region.

Referring to recent border tensions and attacks carried out on Afghan territory, Massoud said the current situation is actually the result of the Taliban’s irresponsible policies and their support for militant organizations. He added that the Taliban’s strategy has once again turned Afghanistan into a center of regional conflicts and geopolitical rivalry among major powers.

During his speech, he emphasized that achieving lasting peace and stability in Afghanistan requires that terrorist organizations must not be given safe havens under any circumstances, and that the country must be pulled out of the politics of war and confrontation once again.
