BAKU Azerbaijan, celebrated its 5th Victory Day with a spectacular military parade in Baku, emphasizing regional unity and defense cooperation. President Ilham Aliyev, President Recep Tayyip Erdoğan of Türkiye, and Prime Minister Shehbaz Sharif of Pakistan attended the event. Field Marshal Syed Asim Munir also joined the celebrations, highlighting the deep military and diplomatic ties among the three nations.

Trilateral Military Display

The parade showcased troops and defense contingents from Türkiye and Pakistan, reflecting trilateral solidarity and shared commitment to regional stability. Advanced military equipment and coordinated drills highlighted the countries’ joint preparedness and strategic collaboration.

Leaders Reaffirm Peace and Friendship

Speaking on the sidelines of the event, Prime Minister Shehbaz Sharif expressed his delight at joining his “dear brothers” in reaffirming their shared vision of peace, prosperity, and enduring friendship. “Together, we celebrate not only military achievements but also the bonds of faith, trust, and brotherhood that unite our nations,” he said.

Domestic Political Clarification

Earlier, the Prime Minister addressed recent political speculation at home, clarifying that a proposed amendment to grant immunity to the Prime Minister had not been approved by the Cabinet and must be withdrawn immediately. He emphasized that an elected Prime Minister must remain fully accountable under the law and to the people.

Significance for Regional Cooperation

The Victory Day celebrations underscored Azerbaijan’s growing role as a hub of regional cooperation, while also reinforcing the symbolic ties of friendship and mutual respect shared among Azerbaijan, Türkiye, and Pakistan.
