Security forces carried out a successful operation in Bajaur District following intelligence reports about the presence of militants. During the operation, intense gunfire exchange took place between security forces and terrorists, resulting in the death of a key operative of the banned group Tehrik-i-Taliban Pakistan.
The deceased, identified as Amanullah, was reportedly the brother of the group’s deputy “shadow governor” for Bajaur and was wanted in multiple attacks on security forces and other acts of militancy.
Links to Afghanistan Emerged
According to reports, a video of the killed militant recorded in Afghanistan has also surfaced. Defence analysts suggest that the video is strong evidence indicating that TTP militants maintain safe havens across the border and coordinate their operations from there.
The emergence of this video has once again raised concerns about cross-border networks facilitating militant activities against Pakistan.

Operational Impact
Security officials consider the operation a significant blow to the organizational structure of the TTP in Bajaur and surrounding areas. The death of a close relative of a senior commander is believed to have weakened the group’s command and control system.
Following the operation, search and clearance efforts have been intensified in the region to eliminate any remaining militants and their facilitators.
