Bajaur | July 2025— The Bajaur Peace Movement (Bajaur Aman Pasoon) has issued a powerful joint declaration in July 2025, reflecting the deep concerns of the local tribal communities regarding the deteriorating law and order situation in Bajaur. This declaration lays out a series of urgent demands and firm warnings to the state institutions, military, and political leadership of Pakistan. The movement emphasizes the need for sustainable peace, justice, and security in the region.

Urgent Demands from the Bajaur Peace Movement

The Bajaur Peace Movement has made the following demands to the government, military leadership, and state institutions:

  1. Access to CCTV Footage & Accountability
It is imperative that all criminal incidents in key areas such as Farsh, Khar Bazaar, Shandai Mor Phatak, and surrounding neighborhoods must be traceable through CCTV surveillance. The deliberate removal of cameras raises serious questions. The Bajaur Peace Movement demands that this footage be shared transparently with the tribal elders, national leaders, and local political representatives. The responsibility lies with the state institutions. Therefore, the state must abandon its current oppressive and negligent approach and take concrete, transparent steps within 70 days to restore peace and law and order. These steps should inspire public trust.
  2. Military Operations Must Involve Public Confidence
Any military action in Bajaur must be conducted only after consulting the local population. Furthermore, these operations must ensure the protection of innocent lives and property. The Bajaur Peace Movement clearly states that the public will not support any operation that results in civilian casualties or the creation of more internally displaced persons (IDPs).
  3. Stop Organized Crime & Extortion
Bajaur has witnessed a dangerous rise in organized robberies and extortion. Shockingly, state institutions remain silent, deepening public mistrust. The movement demands an immediate end to nighttime theft and extortion activities. If not addressed, these issues will further weaken the public’s trust in the system.
  4. Compensation for Victims of Terrorism Since 2005
All individuals who have lost their lives in acts of terrorism since 2005 must be compensated under Islamic law (Diyat), equivalent to the price of 100 camels. If the state fails to act, the Bajaur Peace Movement will engage legal organizations to pursue this matter through the courts.

Consequences of Non-Compliance

If the state institutions fail to meet the above demands within 70 days, the Bajaur Peace Movement has outlined the following measures:

  1. Full Tribal Boycott of State Institutions
All Bajaur tribes will cut ties with state institutions until demands are fulfilled.
  2. Closure of Mineral Resources
All mining operations in Bajaur, owned by the local population, will be shut down. The tribes will not allow illegal control of their resources. If needed, they are ready to defend their rights with force.
  3. Armed Self-Defense for Security
If the state continues to fail in protecting its people, the locals will be forced to arm themselves for their own safety.
  4. Collective Support for Justice
In any future criminal incident, if the perpetrator is killed by the victim’s family, the entire community will support the action, and no FIR (First Information Report) will be filed against the avengers.
  5. Social Boycott of Terror Facilitators
No citizen of Bajaur will act as a facilitator in any so-called counter-terrorism operation. Anyone found supporting terrorism will face complete social and economic isolation by the community.

Final Appeal to the State & International Stakeholders

From Waziristan to Bajaur, the tribal population of nearly 10 million is united in declaring that they will no longer accept the ongoing so-called “Dollar War” which has continued for over 25 years. The Bajaur Peace Movement calls upon the federal government, Pakistan Army, and state institutions to end this war immediately.

Moreover, the declaration strongly recommends peaceful dialogue and diplomatic engagement. It urges the Islamic Emirate of Afghanistan, Pakistani authorities, and military leadership to find a political and negotiated solution to the worsening security crisis.

The community has also rejected any operation conducted under U.S. pressure or influence, declaring that the so-called “Dollar War” is unacceptable under any circumstances.

Upcoming Bajaur Peace March

This movement is gaining momentum, and the voices from Bajaur are becoming louder with each passing day. The people are no longer willing to accept injustice, chaos, and manipulation under the guise of counter-terrorism.
