A security forces vehicle was targeted in an explosion on the Indus Highway in Bannu district of Khyber Pakhtunkhwa. According to initial reports, one security personnel was martyred while three others sustained serious injuries. The blast occurred when a convoy of forces was traveling from Peshawar to Bannu.
Rescue Operations and Hospital Transfers
Following the incident, police and additional security personnel were immediately dispatched to the scene. Rescue sources confirmed that the body of the martyred soldier and the injured were shifted to nearby hospitals, where medical treatment is underway. Authorities have declared an emergency in local hospitals.
Road Closure and Search Operation
After the explosion, security forces sealed off the affected section of the Indus Highway for all traffic and cordoned off the area. A large-scale search operation has been launched. Officials said evidence is being collected to determine the nature of the blast and to identify those responsible.
